Optometrists recommend that you get an eye exam at least once every two years. However, two years might be a long time to wait, especially if you are having certain signs of eye problems. Schedule an appointment with your optometrist as soon as possible if you notice any of the following signs:

Sudden Blurred Vision

Blurred vision is one of the obvious signs that you need to have a professional check your eyes. Sudden blurred vision is even more alarming as it could be as a result of a serious underlying health issue. In such cases, the blurred vision could be occurring in one of your eyes or both. Also, you could be experiencing blurred vision at only certain times of the day or throughout the day.

Get in touch with your optometrist as soon as you notice any changes with the clarity of your vision. This is important because a sudden occurrence of blurred vision could lead to complicated health issues if ignored.

Constant Headaches

You could be having an eye problem if you are experiencing frequent headaches. Well, it could be casual headaches or early signs of a developing eye problem. Eye problems do not occur overnight; they gradually develop.

Schedule an appointment with your optometrist if you are having recurring headaches. This is because something could be going wrong with your vision and only revealing as headaches. Your optometrist will conduct a comprehensive eye exam to rule out the possibility of the headaches being eye-related.

Difficulties Using Computers

You are more likely to experience eye problems if you spend most of your days glued at the computer. Do you struggle to read your computer while working? Try to apply the 20-20-20 rule. If you do not know about the 20-20-20 rule, it recommends that while using your computer, you should look 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.

The 20-20-20 rule should be able to help you clear your vision while using a computer. You might be experiencing farsightedness issues if the rule does not seem to work and thus should make a point of seeing your optometrist as soon as possible.
